About Us

Custer Road Christian Day School (CRCDS) is a preschool and private Kindergarten in Plano. It is an extension of the faith and ministry of Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano. CRCDS and its programs foster the spiritual, physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of preschool age children from Plano and surrounding areas in a secure, loving and stimulating environment. Our children learn to love God and love others through daily prayer, Bible songs and stories, weekly Chapel time, and loving teachers. The teaching staff provides a warm, nurturing environment where each child can grow in confidence knowing that they are safe and loved. Our learning goals are consistent with the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines and TEKS . A team of Master level teachers and curriculum specialists collaborated to provide our school with a vertically aligned curriculum, ensuring our students are best prepared for the next step in their academic career.

FAQ's

We are located at the Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas on Custer Road between Spring Creek Parkway and Legacy Drive.

We are open on Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:55 pm.

We do not have before or after school care.

Our student to teacher ratio varies based on the age of the students, the size of the classroom, and falls well below the recommended state guidelines.  Average class sizes for each age group are listed below:  

18 to 23 month classes – 10:2
Two’s classes – 10:2

Three’s classes – 14:2

Four’s classes – 14:2

Kindergarten – 12:1

Although some families enroll in our program as a transition, our curriculum is academically rigorous and is designed to prepare your child for first grade.

Tuition is billed on the first of each month and can be paid by credit card, electronic funds transfer, e-check, personal check, or cash.

Children enrolled in our Children’s Day Out program for children ages 18 to 35 months do not need to be potty trained. However, children entering our threes and fours classes need to be reliably potty trained.

  • Our teachers and custodial staff clean and disinfect all toys and classroom and bathroom surfaces daily.  In addition to daily cleaning, each classroom is sprayed with an electrostatic sanitizing spray each week.  
  • We wash hands upon arrival and frequently throughout the day.
    We monitor temperatures and send home students/staff with temperature above 100°
  • Staff and students must stay home when sick and not return until they have been symptom free without the aid of medication for at least 48 hours.  

Parents send a daily snack, a peanut/ tree nut free lunch and water. We are not able to refrigerate or microwave your child’s lunch.

Food and snack items must be peanut/tree nut free. Parents of children with other food or environmental allergies must provide a physician signed FAEP Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency plan form to have on file at the school.

The 18-35 mo classes will have a rest time. If your child does not sleep, a quiet alternate activity will be provided after an appropriate rest time. Threes, Fours and Kindergarten classes do not nap.

No, the Enrollment Fee covers pre-admission costs and is not refundable or transferable.

 

We utilize a parent communication app to communicate with our families. Through the app teachers will post daily updates, attach photos and provide school and classroom news. The app can also be used to hold private conversations between parents and teachers.
Parents of CDO students will receive progress observation forms twice each school year. Parents of threes, fours, and kindergarten students will have two assessment conferences each school year.
