Where are you located?
We are located at the Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas on Custer Road between Spring Creek Parkway and Legacy Drive.
What are your hours?
We are open on Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:55 pm.
Do you provide extended hours?
We do not have before or after school care.
What is your student to teacher ratio?
18 to 23 month classes – 1:5
4 to 35 month classes – 6:1
Three’s classes – 7:1
Four’s classes – 8:1
Kindergarten – 12:1
Is your kindergarten a true kindergarten or a transitional program?
Although some families enroll in our program as a transition, our curriculum is academically rigorous and is designed to prepare your child for first grade.
How will I pay my tuition?
We do not accept credit cards. The preferred method of payment is via eCheck. You can also pay with cash or personal check.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
Children enrolled in our Children’s Day Out program for children ages 18 to 35 months do not need to be potty trained. However, children entering our threes and fours classes need to be reliably potty trained.
What are your health and wellness policies?
Our custodial staff cleans and disinfects all classroom and bathroom surfaces, toys and other resources daily with an electrostatic sanitizing spray.
We wash hands upon arrival and frequently throughout the day.
We monitor temperatures and send home students/staff with temperature above 100°
We require sick students to be picked up within fifteen minutes of parent notification.
Staff and students must stay home when sick and not return until they have been symptom free without the aid of medication for at least 48 hours.
Do you provide a daily meal?
Parents send a daily snack, a peanut/ tree nut free lunch and water. We are not able to refrigerate or microwave your child’s lunch.
My child has specific food related and/or environmental allergies. Can these be accommodated?
Food and snack items must be peanut/tree nut free. Parents of children with other food or environmental allergies must provide a physician signed FAEP Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency plan form to have on file at the school.
Will my child have to rest at school?
The 18-35 mo classes will have a rest time. If your child does not sleep, a quiet alternate activity will be provided after an appropriate rest time. Threes, Fours and Kindergarten classes do not nap.
My plans have changed and my child will not be attending CRCDS. Is my registration fee refundable?
No, the registration fee covers preadmission costs and is not refundable or transferrable.
How will I communicate with my child’s teacher?
We utilize the Bloomz app to communicate with our families. Through the app teachers will post daily updates, attach photos and provide school and classroom news. The app can also be used to hold private conversations between parents and teachers.
Parents of CDO students will receive progress observation forms twice each school year. Parents of threes, fours, and kindergarten students will have two assessment conferences each school year.
Is the school licensed? What kinds of standards are there?
The school is licensed and inspected by the Department of Family and Protective Services. With thousands of items inspected, we’re proud of the fact that we haven’t received a single citation.
