Do You Have Any Questions?

Below are some common questions. Use the contact form to reach out to us with any additional questions you may have.

Where are you located?

We are located at the Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas on Custer Road between Spring Creek Parkway and Legacy Drive.

What are your hours?

We are open on Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:55 pm.

Do you provide extended hours?

We do not have before or after school care.

Does my child need to be potty trained?

Children enrolled in our Children’s Day Out program for children ages 18 to 35 months do not need to be potty trained. However, children entering our threes and fours classes need to be reliably potty trained.

What is your student to teacher ratio?
16 to 23 month classes – 5:1
30 to 35 month classes – 6:1
Three’s classes – 7:1
Four’s classes – 8:1
Kindergaraten – 12:1
Do you provide a daily meal?

We provide a morning snack and parents send a peanut/ tree nut free lunch. We are not able to refrigerate or microwave your child’s lunch.

My child has specific food related and/or environmental allergies. Can these be accommodated?

Food and snack items served at school and brought from home must be peanut/tree nut free. Parents of children with other food or environmental allergies may be asked to provide a special daily snack for their child.

Will my child have to rest at school?

The State of Texas requires that a supervised sleep or rest period be provided after the noon meal for all children 18-months of age or older who are in care five or more consecutive hours. An alternate, quiet activity will be provided for each child who is awake after sleeping or resting for an age-appropriate time period.

Will there be opportunities for me to volunteer in my child’s classroom?

CRCDS has several activities throughout the school year that require the assistance of parent volunteers. You will be notified of these opportunities as the need arises. Parent involvement in the CDO classrooms is discouraged due to the number of children still experiencing separation anxiety.

Can I celebrate my child’s birthday at school?

Our children are VIPs on their birthdays! They wear a birthday crown, sit in the special birthday chair and have a birthday photo taken with classmates. Parents wishing to provide a treat can leave ice cream cups at drop off time.

My plans have changed and my child will not be attending CRCDS. Is my registration fee refundable?

No, the registration fee covers preadmission costs and is not refundable.

What happens if there is inclement weather?

When Plano ISD schools are closed or opening late, we will be closed. School closing information can be found at or by monitoring local television stations.

My child has been ill and has been cleared to return to school but still needs medication. Will someone at school administer the medication?

No medication (except for medication required to control a life threatening situation) will be given at school by the CRCDS staff. If your child requires medication during the school day, a parent will need to come to school to administer the medication.

I have some concerns that I would like to discuss with my child’s teachers. When can I meet with them?

We encourage parents to contact the Director and or the teachers with questions or concerns. If more than a quick phone call is required, a special time will be arrange for additional conversation. Please keep in mind that conferencing with the teachers at the classroom door during the arrival and departure takes the teachers’ attention away from the children in the room.

Is the school licensed? What kinds of standards are there?

The school is licensed and inspected by the Department of Family and Protective Services. With thousands of items inspected, we’re proud of the fact that we haven’t received a single citation. You can see the inspection report here.

More information about our standards we uphold can be found on our Accountability Program Standards page.
